As a lobbyist for the NBA, he brought AMBER Alert into Nevada. He was able to create and unanimously pass comprehensive state legislation. Appointed by Governors Guinn, Gibbons and Sandoval, he served a decade as the State AMBER Alert Chairman and Coordinator. He was honored by United States Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in Washington, D.C. as the first recipient of the National AMBER Alert Media Award. In addition to providing broadcaster immunity, Nevada statute carries the toughest penalty in America for providing false information resulting in an AMBER Alert activation.

Under his leadership, the Nevada Legislature continued to pass historical legislation. We remain the only state in America whose “trained, certified and credentialed broadcast personnel are classified as First Responders.” He was also the driving force to prevent the elimination of Broadcaster Non-Compete contracts in the 2013 Nevada Legislative Session.

A strong advocate for the Nevada Army National Guard, he served on the successful Governor’s Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission. Today, Bob remains as the longest serving member of the Nevada Homeland Security Commission (13 years). On the commission he has served as Chairman of both the Rural Communities and By-laws committees.

Bob is looking forward returning to lobbying in Carson City for the 2017 Legislative Session.
